LFeLi Slimline - Shelf-mounted 48V module

The 51.2V Slimline module series uses Leoch’s safe LFP technology in a vertical foot-print and is designed for direct replacement of the existing 190Ah & 210Ah front-terminal VRLA blocks commonly encountered in telecom 48V power system racks. The LFP Slimline modules deliver significantly higher energy density and a much higher cycle life and longer service life compared to the traditional 4x12V shelved lead-acid solutions. Replacing the VRLA 12V blocks with the Slimline module doubles capacity and improves reliability by increasing strings for redundancy. The LP battery technology delivers 6000 cycles at 80% DoD which allows the standby system to be used in energy cycling initiatives. The modules have a controlling BMS which ensure safe operation and allows real-time condition monitoring of the stored energy.

Available in front-terminal connection format to facilitate the use of existing cabling, or in Plug&Play format, using rear backplane cabling, thereby simplifying installation requirements and removing the risks associated with front-panel cabling.

General Features

  • Lithium Ion Phosphate (LFP) chemistry has a high thermal runaway threshold and is generally considered the safest lithium-ion technology in the marketplace.
  • Much higher energy density than VRLA battery options. Considerable saving in terms of floor loading.
  • Very good cycle Life, (6000 cycles at 80% DoD) which allow combo standby & cycling (hybrid) applications, thereby reducing CAPEX & OPEX.
  • In the same space, swap 1 VRLA 48V string on a rack or cabinet shelf with 4 parallel strings for much greater string redundancy and at the same time nearly double the C3 capacity that was the single rack shelf.
  • Advanced BMS communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Canbus, RS232, RS485) for monitoring access to BMS data.
  • LCD screen on each module to assist local inspection of BMS data.
